Try It Tuesday is a website that sponsors the idea of setting aside at least part of every Tuesday to do a project that they explain each week.
Illustration Friday, Inspire Me Thursday and now Tuesdays are tempting me too. So many ideas and so little time!
I thought that was a cool idea until I started realizing that priorities start to get lost at some point when we starting adding more and more things to the "to do" list.
The upside of Try It Tuesday is that you could do something in a new way or learn something new.
But it doesn't look like something you could take a half hour to play with between the vet's appointment and the conference call and doing some marketing for yourself and getting that proposal out to the client from Buffalo.
And I couldn't commit this chunk of time to do it every Tuesday - especially on Tuesday specifically.
For me Illustration Friday works better because it keeps the whole thing relatively simple . . .
The illustration (or doodle or whatever) that you do on the theme of the day can take five minutes - or a collage could take an hour.
Well OK so the art forms I do often takes days, which is why I do Illustration Friday only every other week or so. And I can normally submit something by Sunday or Monday - or Tuesday - and there's no pressure about when you submit it.
I'm sure all the participants who do the more involved project kinds of web activities aren't retired - or independently wealthy - but I don't think I could do the Tuesday sort of things and continue to keep my professional life going.
People who participate or who have tried it are enthusiastically
encouraged to tell us about their experience because what works for one
of us doesn't necessarily do so for the next guy, but it'd be great to
hear about what you found.
