Who Wants to Go Blogtipping?
Blogtipping is contagious and spreading fast.
My first tippee for August comes from web design agency director Michael Rolph who packs double - maybe triple - power in Leverage Blog.
1.) The atmosphere is welcoming and commenting and TrackBack are functional. I like TrackBack enabled blogs because then I can let them know I'm talking about something they've written.
2.) "Simplicity" and ease of use are the words of the day at Leverage
3.) Michael conveys a practical, positive and clearly stated philosophy, i.e.:
"I believe the strength of America as a global business leader in lies in our ability to innovate."
from: How to Exploit the Web.: Fuel the growth of America: Support the Arts.
Tip: Could we maybe tone down that big honkin' red topper? It conveys the message clearly, but gives me a headache.
.
Tippee Number two: Joe Hauckes' Working at Home on the Internet
1.) I like how easy it is to find a subject of interest on Joe's Blog
2.) No searching for subscribe buttons required either - they're right there waiting to be clicked
3.) Joe writes about interesting things like Seasonal Trends in Blogging, and then he promptly responds to comments. Bravo, Joe!
Tip: You could mention your name on the About page
.
Tippee Three: Starbucker from A Glass Half Full
1.) The upbeat attitude is catching. Or maybe that's the caffeine.
2.) The topics are always interesting, sometimes a little offbeat which suits me just fine, and the writing is first rate
3.) This is where I found a link to the blog; Bobby derailed and other wonderful resources
Tip: I shouldn't only be able to trackback to your articles from a blogger / blogspot blog. I know that's the way blogger is but it's nuts. Could I talk you into a free format wordpress blog? I swear, although it's not as easy and powerful as typepad, it's pretty simple to put together.

Easton, Leaking links is easier but not as personal; blogtipping may be a lot more valuable in the end. I admit it took me some time to put my thoughts in order and do it right.
PS - I just love the concept, and the graphic is classic.

Rick, Joe, Starbucker, thanks for stopping by. Rick, I'll be counting on you for WordPress answers because I know very little other than how to set up a basic site.

Hey Susan,
Sorry it took so long to get here to say thanks. No excuses, but the link just showed up today, I don't know what's up with T-rati indexing links to my blog!?!
Anyway, thanks for the nod and I'll put my name in the about page, I thought it may be enough just being on every post.
Joe

Wordpress installation is quick and easy. Putting in a new theme without any changes is easy. Changing a theme takes a little bit of work, but if someone like me who doesn't know any PHP or javascript can do it, anyone can. And you don't have to do it all at once. There are plugins premade by a lot of people to do most of the things you see on blogs.
Even my site is just modifications to Wordpress' default theme.

Thanks Susan! You are not the first to suggest I try another hosting method for my blog - I think you can talk me into it! I realize I can't do a lot of things on Blogger I can do elsewhere. I just have to find the time to do it - does it take very long on Wordpress, for example? Thanks again! (PS: I really like the look of your site)
