Gathering and Weaving Your Web of Connections, Ideas and Information

I've found Gather to be a nice way to generate blog & Cafepress Gift Gallery traffic from people who would never go looking for me in a blog search engine. So it's my helpful tip of the week this Thursday morning.

What makes me think this is worth my time?

1.) It is bringing inbound traffic to my Cafepress gallery site, Blogs & On-screen Art Puzzles

2.)
Business Week: Gather = one of the Top Desktop Diversions of 2006

3.) Price? Free  -  But sharing content ( articles, poems, stories, even photos ) pays YOU

4.)
Options: Participate at any level you wish:

  • pop in once a week to read thoughtful content,
  • scan photos once in awhile,
  • comment on someone’s work,
  • write an article,
  • find a new recipe
  • upload photos. - I show off new art and artistamps and CEO Tom Gerace shares travel photos

5.) If THESE people believe in Gather, I'm so on board.

     Board includes -

  • Senator Bill Bradley - Managing Director of Allen & Company LLC.formerly with the International Council of JP Morgan & Co, essayist for CBS, visiting professor at Stanford, Notre Dame, and the University of Maryland.

  • Susan Maffei - Managing Director, Forrester Research - helps clients assess the effect of technology on their busines

  • Jim Manzi - Chairman, President, CEO of Lotus Development until acquired by IBM
  • Jon McTaggart -Senior Vice President / COO American Public Media Group and its largest division, Minnesota Public Radio
  • Tom Gerace - before Gather his multiple activities include as senior business analyst at the Harvard Business School & developed the "Managing in the Marketspace" course within the MBA program.

For me it's a no brainer that's paid off in spades. Decide for yourself but I encourage you to at least pay Gather a visit and take a look around for a few minutes. Have I led you astray so far?

Well there ya go!
